This was more than I expected. I’ve been thinking of making my own soaps but wasn’t sure how to begin then I found this and I’m so glad I did. It’s super easy to do had everything that you needed. Great packaging and the smells are amazing. I used both clear soap base which filled the four molds. It even came with little packaging for the finished product so you can give as gifts.

My daughter enjoyed this lit so much that she continues to make soap. It gave her unique things to try and enjoy the decorative features.

I enjoyed my first go with this. Only thing I didn’t like was the fact that the rose petal makes the soap mold fast when it’s being dried. The instruction says 24 hours to harden but I don’t think that’s good because once you add the rose petals, you will need to remove them after 8 hours from the mold or it will start to turn brown at the bottom.

Good starter kit but do Not Put the dried flowers in your soap. It will mold!

This kit is great for anyone just starting out. It come with everything you need to try your hand at soapmaking. No need to buy anything fancy, I used a ball canning jar in a saucepan of boiling water to melt my soap blocks. You get 4 blocks of soap, two clear and two shea butter. The directions say that each block fills one mold. I found each melted block to fill one and a half molds. I made 5 molds, and still have one whole block of soap base left for future use. You get 4 small jars of fragrance and 4 colors. Two nice size bags of dried flowers as well as two loofahs. Also included are 4 gift boxes for the soap. Directions were easy to follow. The only cons for me were that there was always one small piece of the base that didn’t want to melt. I found swirling the jar helped to melt it. I also found that the petals I added to the mold before pouring the base, held up better than the ones I sprinkled on after pouring (most of those fell off once I removed the soap from the mold). My husband thought they turned out well too, although he stated they all smelled the same to him. Overall, this was a really enjoyable activity. I defiantly recommend giving it a shot. I think I found myself a new hobby.

This kit was a Christmas gift for my five year old daughter and she loved making soaps that actually look like it was purchased from a store. The fragrances are great and colors are beautiful!

We bought this kit for our girl scout troop as an activity. It turned out to be great and useful. The soap base smelled amazing and it came with add ons that were fun and lavish. The scents were amazing, the cherry blossom was very popular. Wish there were more colors for the soap base. Overall worth it👍🏽

I like experimenting with different history of old ways of doing things. This one was fun. Different scents adding baking soda etc.,

I’ve never made soap before, but I have made candles in the past, so the process is kind of familiar. Still, there are a lot of differences, and this kit made it easy! The instructions are clear, and the included soap making supplies seem to be pretty nice quality, especially for a beginner like me. This would make a really nice gift for someone interested in DIY soaps or beauty products!

It needs to come with more soap base… a lot more, needs at least 2 additional colors. Other than that it was great. Honestly swap out the eucalyptus for something else…anything else!! Get rid of all minty scents and replace them with something fresh and light and it’s all good.

My kids and I loved making soap. This kit was easy to use and came with everything you needed to make soap. The scents were nice and the kit was an awesome value. This would make an excellent gift.

I am very unhappy as the outside had a large hole in the middle which made it unacceptable as a gift for my friend. The inside products look like they would be something she would really like. This could have been a five star rating.

I am brand new to soap making and this kit is making my learning process go super smooth. Instructions are clear and the kit contains everything you need to get started. You don’t actually make the soap, but you form the ingredients into a final bar specifying the scents and textures you want. It’s great to do with kids and is a fun creative outlet.

This kit has just about everything you need to get started, all you need is a pot and a thermometer. Both glycerin soap base and shea butter base are included, giving you some choices. Liquid colors and 4 nice scents are also in the box. There is no blue….?The colors have a drip bottle, the scents do not, but they smell very nice and not too perfume-y. The molds are good and solid. I love that it comes with the dry lavender and rose, not to mention the loofahs. Overall, great starter kit for the money. This will be a fun project with the kiddos or for date night. Thank you 🙂

Wow, I LOVE that this Illumive Soap Making Kit came with everything we need to make our own soap for gifts this holiday season! Everything from the soap to the scents, dyes, dried flowers, molds and little loofas. The molds are a bit on the flimsy side, but they still work well. This soap making kit is a really good value for all that it contains, and I highly recommend it for beginners or experts alike. I found it fairly easy to use with my children as long as I poured the hot soap. They enjoy putting in the additives and stirring carefully, while I enjoy pouring into the different molds we have. I also found it very useful that there are two different types of soap included so you can explore different soap options.Overall, this is a fabulous soap making kit with everything you need, 5 stars all the way!

This is a really nice set for beginners. The dyes I won’t really be using, but everything else is great! It has dried lavender and rose, soap molds, and everything you need to get started on soap-making. I’ve been wanting to get started on it and I can’t wait to use this set! It smelled great when I opened it and it was packaged beautifully. It comes with specific instructions which I appreciate–and need!So overall I am very happy with it and I would absolutely recommend it as a beginner’s set.

This is such a nice kit for home soap making. I got this intended for my crafty teen daughter as a gift….now I’m going to make sure I’m home when she does it because it looks like a lot of fun.The kit is beautifully packaged and includes the soap bases (4 large blocks), silicone molds, gift boxes in which to package the soaps, 4 colorings, 4 scents, 2 loofah inserts, a bag of dried rose petals (quite a large amount) and a bag of dried lavender petals. The box smells amazing before you even open it!The instructions are well written and clear with helpful tips and alternative ways of making the soaps (stove top versus microwave). One odd thing, is the box states it is for age 3 and up…maybe that means the completed soap can be used by age 3 and up but this is definitely NOT a toy and is geared towards older teens and adults. This kit is a great value, sure to be enjoyed by the recipient!

I got this because I wanted to try something new that I had never done before. The kit has everything and the instructions are explained well so that everything is easy to use. I made the rose scent and am working on the lavender scent. It turned out really well and was very easy to do. The soap base ended up doubling (once melted) into two bars which was a nice surprise! I love the extra petals and I used those which gave a nice aesthetic and texture to the soap. I absolutely love making soaps with this kit and will look forward to getting it again. It didn’t take very long to make and was fun to do. I highly recommend it.

This soap kit was fun for a variety of ages. I have a toddler, two preteens, a teen, and myself who all worked on this as a family activity. There was something all of us could do. The instructions were easy to follow as was the actual process of making the soaps. We used a microwave to melt the bases and then mixed the soaps in glass bowls. Each of the blocks of bases made 2 bars of soap and we didn’t know that because the instructions didn’t say that, so we had to just test it out first and then after that my kids knew if they wanted to make different colors or scents they’d have to split their base in half… That’s the only con we really had because my first kiddo to make soap didn’t know and didn’t split his so his soaps were both the same color and scent. It only took about 1 hour to actually harden enough to pull out of the molds and we ended up cutting the molds so they would be singular instead of all hooked together which helped the cooling time go faster. (My kids were antsy) Clean up was a breeze and the soaps smell strong and look pretty. I would definitely recommend this kit to other families with kiddos.

“This kit is GRRREAT!!”Most soap recipes that I have seen have the fats and the lye separated out. And when you mix the 2, you better be in a very well ventilated area.So I was wondering how they were going to sell this soap kit for beginners. Well. . .this kit already comes with the soap base already made. All you have to do it melt it and your desired color, scent and dried flowers if you want. This also comes with a nice silicone mold for soaps.Overall, a great kit for people just getting into soap making.

I recently got into the hobby of soapmaking but hadn’t tried making pour style soaps. I ran across this kit and thought this would be a good introduction to trying the pour method of soapmaking. The kit comes with almost everything that you need to get started. The only thing it doesn’t include is a separate container for melting the soap base. I used a stainless-steel pitcher and a small induction stove to melt down the soap, stirring constantly and keeping the temperatures low as to not burn the soap. The mold it comes with is nice. It held up really well. The scents and colorants work as expected. The loofah that comes with the set is a joke though. It’s so small and cut so thin that you wouldn’t really be able to use it even if you wanted to. Of course, that wasn’t a huge disappointment as the loofah being in the kit was really just an added bonus so not being able to use it wasn’t a big deal. For the price, it’s not a bad kit to start with.

We had never made soap before. Granted, it’s not “making” soap from scratch, but that’s OK. Baby steps. This is a great start to see if you’re into it. I’m not so sure we want to start from scratch. Four soap bases are provided, and they make two bars each. You just need to melt them down and add what you like. In the box, you’ll find different oils, dyes, flowers and little loofahs. Lots of things to play with. Most important than anything, the instructions are very clear and thorough. They even tell you this can be messy, and you’ll need to move fast. So true! Our initial soap bars weren’t the same size, because by the time you carefully pour it in the first mold, it’s already starting to turn solid. By the time we poured the second, we had a thick coating of soap in our pour glass and a shorter bar of soap! But we were warned. There is a learning curve. The next time was much better. This was fun. We’ll do it again. BTW, the finished soap was very nice!
