I reached out to Amazon and I would have had to return and wait, and I just really didn’t want to wait any longer. They still work great and I am very happy with them. We will see how easy it is to remove plants once time, but I don’t see any issues coming up.

5.0 out of 5 starsI’m new to gardening so I got this seed starter kit. Works like a champ! You get all the things you need to set up your starter. The trays are easy to assemble. You even get little labels to identify the seeds you are planting (even a sharpie marker). The vented dome keeps the humidity high to get the seeds started quickly even in cool weather. The cells have flexible bottoms so it is easy to remove the seedlings to replant in a larger container.

3.0 out of 5 starsI bought these to supplement the covered six pack I purchased before, and should of rebought those. These 10 packs sounds good but not functional as they become too heavy. When you get seeds blooming you cannot move them out like you can with a six pack, as they are now in a 10 pack that is one flimsy, so just taking the tray out to give water is a chore. The white stakes that come with it are too long as this stops the top from sealing, so you have to cut off 1/8 of and inch. Won’t buy again.

The tools sent with the kit work perfect. This is a great activity for kids or even adults that want to grow plants but want to start small. We will be adding the flowers we’ve grown to some window boxes outside our house! After I bought the kit all I needs was seeds and dirt! We will be reusing them again once the plants have grown.

5.0 out of 5 starsI bought 2 sets of the 2 x 3 cells, totaling 100 cells. Great seed-starting system. Fun to fill (I use Coast of Maine ‘Island Blend’ organic seed starter — it’s rich yet free of weed seeds and worth the $$$) and assemble. I wasn’t expecting it, but found the tools handy to poke divots into the mix, drop seed, and gently cover. A few important notes:1. About assembly, each set comes with aperture covers you have to push into the plastic domes. The domes’ cut holes are slightly smaller than the apertures’ posts, which are cleaved to pop into the holes. It takes a bit of English to make them snap in. But it’s important that they do. Too, the domes don’t snap onto the cell sets, but that’s good for easy access. Just be careful to never pick the systems up by their domes.2. Unless you want faster germination, don’t use a heating pad. If you do insist on using a heating pad, yank it once your seedlings appear above the soil. Seeds may like warmth to germinate, but once they do, their roots want cold, not warmth. Too, cooler temperatures will encourage robust seedling trunks, rather than stalky growth that aches to escape the heating pad below.3. Seeds like humidity to germinate. At first, keep the dome’s aperture closed. Seeds typically germinate a few days from each other, so once the first few break the soil surface, you can open the aperture to reduce but not eliminate the humidity the dome provides.4. Most seeds do not need light to germinate. In fact, they do very well in near darkness (including refrigerators)! So resist throwing your freshly-planted seeds into direct light or under grow lights.5. Do not fertilize your soil before germination. The seed carries all the plant nutrients it needs to germinate. Only after germination do you need to consider fertilizing.6. Once the majority of your seedlings appear, REMOVE the dome! I repeat — REMOVE the dome! Healthy strong seedlings need (preferably gently moving) air, don’t like high humidity, and will suffer by leaving the dome on.7. Once your seedlings have germinated, the seed casing’s inherent nutrients have been exhausted. Fertilize with an appropriate NPK (nitrogen-phosphorous-potassium) fertilizer. You may want to dilute it to reduce shock. E.g., if your seed’s package advises a ‘balanced’ (10-10-10) fertilizer, consider diluting it by half (5-5-5).8. To encourage root growth, pull the cell sets out of the bases and pour a half inch or so of water (or diluted fertilizer) into the base. Capillary action will encourage deep root growth to draw it all into the plant. Too, base-watering will reduce habitat for fungus gnats, which love exposed wet and humid soils.9. If a tiny bit mold accumulates on the soil’s surface, it’s probably not a big deal, as alarming as it may seem. However, mold CAN be a problem for people whom are allergic or sensitive to the spores. To minimize mold, water less and limit the air flow around the set. In particular, while having a fan near encourages strong seedling trunks, it will send any dry mold spores airborne!

5.0 out of 5 starsThis are great for starting little seedlings. I’ve started tomatoes and squash and it’s a good depth for getting both going early. I use seed starter with mine. I like that these are green on the base because I have been seeing clear ones recently and plant roots don’t really like those clear ones! My messages to put my seed starter in and just poke a hole with my finger, put one to three seeds depending on what I’m planting, put the clear plastic dome on closed and spray it regularly so that it stays wet. If it’s a tomato, often I will start them on warming mats because they won’t usually sprou& grow until the soil is very warm. Once they sprout event then and then once they all get their second leaves I will take the tops off. Please come with little tools in case you don’t want to be poking your finger in the dirt. The tools work good for a little tasks that you would use to start seeds and it’s a nice little extra.

See trays are very durable, have a silicone bottom with holes to let water seep into the bottom tray. Cover with vent helps keep seeds humid, protected, and warm. Great for an armature or seasoned gardener. Perfect for a classroom! Highly recommend!

Transplanting seedlings is a breeze, just a gentle push from below and it’s done. The drainage system works great, so no worries about overwatering. What I love most is its durability, it’s a one-time buy that you can use for years(that’s what I’m hoping), and it’s even dishwasher safe! I cleaned mine in the dishwasher(only the cell tray) after transplanting, and it came out looking good as new. Highly recommend for anyone getting into gardening!

It made it easy to prep the soil and have a consistent depth. The plastic is a heavy gauge and I think it will las several seasons. I have another tray from a big box store that while was less expensive- the quality difference is obvious. I would much prefer to spend a little more and get a quality product. I really like that you can adjust the amount of air circulation as well.I have not tried releasing the seedlings yet, but looking at the design of this, I do think it will make transplanting easier and cause less “root shock”.I am very happy with this product and do highly recomend.
