1.0 out of 5 starsThis mouse isn’t as simple as plug and play. Immediately, I could click but the tracking wouldn’t move the cursor. They recommended downloading Logitech’s GG app and adjusting settings under the Engine tab. Did that and updated firmware. Nothing. Recommended resetting the mouse. Did that. Nothing. Recommended uninstalling and reinstalling. Did that. Nothing. Recommended retrying it all and restarting my computer. Did that. Nothing. There are countless reviews of the same issues online. My recommendation for fixing the problem? Get a different mouse.p.s. If you wonder why some of the reviews are ok, it’s as comfortable as a normal mouse and all my messing around with it didn’t drain a single percent, so the battery life seems decent. It just doesn’t matter in this case.
Would not recommend, I’ve had it barely a year and the scroll wheel is totally unusable, you shouldn’t spend $150 for a mouse that doesn’t last even a year. –
1.0 out of 5 starsThe scroll wheel is entirely unusable a year in, you shouldn’t spend $150 bucks for a mouse that won’t last a year. I have big hands and the front 3 buttons are much harder to reach than any other mmo mouse I’ve tried. They must’ve designed it with a gorillas hand as the blueprint. The software also absolutely sucks. First and last steel series mouse I’ll ever spend money on. This has come down in price $40 bucks since I bought it and it’s still double what it should cost. I feel totally robbed.

1.0 out of 5 starsHad this for 5 days before it stopped pairing with dongle provided one morning. Used the SteelSeries GG app to try and connect, didn’t work. Tried repairing with DPI button and switch method like my old mouse, different brand, when it would happen, didn’t work. Device Manager removal and reinstall, didn’t work. Tried the FAQ on manufacturers website, just repeats same methods I tried. Third time SteelSeries has left me utterly disappointed and dissatisfied with their products.

1.0 out of 5 starsWhat a rip off. Worst mouse I ever bought or got free in 45 years. I paid $170.00 and thought it’d be a good mouse for that price, but it’s a piece of garbage. I finally got a Logitech for a quarter of that price that’s flawless. Also the website of this POS SteelSeries Aerox 9 is impossible to navigate. It makes me angry to have suckered for such a worthless device!

5.0 out of 5 starsI wanted to update my aging and discontinued mid level multi-side button Logitech mouse for my living room and bedroom PC’s, where I do all my gaming.. it didn’t work on just the bare recliner arm very well, so I needed to use a small wooden circle with an attached bean bag (for stability) sitting on the arm for smooth tracking.. I also wanted a mouse with a rechargeable battery and that could do wired, wifi, AND bluetooth as I have a second Mini PC in my living room and could use the mouse itself to switch between controlling either one… (and it works well for that actually, I have it connected via Bluetooth to the mini PC and Wifi and wired to the gaming PC and just flip the switch on the mouse to the appropriate position).I generally use a PS5 controller for more action oriented fps games (tho heartily agree that mouse and keyboard is the superior aiming control, I’m just a more casual single player game type). I’m usually in a recliner when gaming, so prefer to have a mouse with extra buttons so that i don’t have to rely on a keyboard in my lap unless absolutely necessary..tho not usually this many buttons as I at first thought this mouse was going to be unwieldy due to having SO many side buttons.. but I was pleasantly surprised upon trying the mouse and finding it fit my medium sized hands just right and all those side buttons (3 rows of 4) were actually easy to find and use with my thumb… no issues there at all thankfully.it’s a really light mouse, which really isn’t a detriment for me but I could see someone wanting one that perhaps feels a bit more substantial for more competitive play maybe.. and really, that’s my only thing I can critique it for really.. of the two I bought, one just stopped being recognized as a usb device by any PC.. I suspect it was a manufacturing issue, bad chip.. havent had any issue with the replacement or the second mouse at all..so, there’s a lot really good about this mouse.. I don’t usually leave reviews unless it’s really deserved as I’m admittedly lazy, lol. let’s go over the good…first, the software works great. Pairing and firmware updates can be a bit specific as they want you to plug the wifi dongle into the provided usb-c adapter via a usb-c cable rather than put the dongle directly into a usb-c port.. but it’s a small inconvenience and only for initial or repairing or rare firmware updates.. and I wished the program opened up directly to the programming screen rather than the marketing page.. but it’s super powerful software with tons of features, used for all their products.. you can have game profiles that automatically switch when you launch a game and as many as you like.. and any type of setting you can think of is there.. all buttons are programmable aside from the connection switch of course.. and tons of commands, windows shortcuts and combos, macros.. etc.. same for the LED lighting, which has three zones and tons of choices.. (tho I have it minimally set to a quick light up when a button is pressed to save battery life). but it works and has zero issues.. (unlike the awful Armoury Crate crap which is a slow memory hog that caused crashes on my beefy gaming pc)the mouse can be used via bluetooth, usb-c (recharged, wired), and wifi.. now with bluetooth, you can’t do any programming or profiles and it eats a bit more battery life than the low power wifi.. but not much. battery life is really great. It’s been maybe two weeks since my last charge for my living room mouseand i’ve got the minimal led and switching between bluetooth and wifi to control different PC’s.. i use it almost daily and it’s only at 55% at two weeks! it also charges fast..so yeah, I do lose some extra functionality like changing profiles and such if using bluetooth but I personally don’t need it, just basic regular functionality, for the second mini PC as that’s just for media like youtube or plex while I’m gaming on the living room tv.another great thing about it is the sensor.. I can use this on any surface.. I think it’s a proprietary one, not sure.. just know I now can just use my pants leg or recliner arm as my mouse pad where my last laser mouse still needed a separate surface for smooth tracking…so I highly recommend this mouse.. it’s well built.. it’s not at all huge but everything fits my medium sized hands great and the side buttons are not an issue at all and easy to find and use.. it’s got great battery life and I really like the software as well.. it’s got a use anywhere sensor and the worst thing I can possibly say about it is that it might be a little too lightweight for some is all. that’s it. I also bought an Apex pro tkl wireless that was on sale for the living room (as it also has the same bluetooth/wifi/wired/recharge functionality) and i love that too and there are features in the software where you can co-ordinate the LED lighting if you want.. or have a game control it.. I just use the lighting for more practical low light reasons over any flashy ones and to help preserve battery life but both have excellent marks on that..it’s a bit pricey but for what ya get, it’s fairly worth it and you can always wait for a sale as well.I’ve been using the Aerox 9 for[laying Baulder’s Gate 3 and never need to use the keyboard.. love it!cheers!

1.0 out of 5 stars1/4th of a Pro: MacOs support but not working.Cons:Mouse is light, however the buttons are perforated, didnt know how much but I always ended up clicking the perforated part of the left click button. No onboard memory for macros or anything beyond keystrokes in the mouse.Software is hot garbage, I tried to setup my mouse 4 times and it lost/reset the config 3 times when I turned off the mouse or the computer.Battery life was atrocious, no more than 8 hours tops.No way to export profiles, and most capabilities are software driven, did I mention your settings get reset frequently? so you need to set up everything again from 0.No “multi computer”, I set up my mouse, then connected to another computer, guess what? everything was erased, in the new computer and in the old one.I tried to work to the quirks of it but no, this was unbearable.

1.0 out of 5 starsWireless connection is inconsistent and has invasive bad software that serves as an advertising platform just to run the mouse.I owned this product for about 2 months and had no issues, after the third month it started having connection issues, but they were mild. It would take about 20 seconds for the mouse to connect after turning on my pc. Now roughly 6 months later the mouse drops connection for about 1 minute at random every half hour or so. I was on the edge of not buying this mouse because of who steelseries aligns them selfs with. They come off as a very sexist blue hair company. But I gave them a chance anyways assuming they still had a good product. They don’t. Don’t buy it, don’t buy their products.

5.0 out of 5 starsI use it to game. It is very lightweight. I don’t anything about battery life since I use it wired. The 12 buttons on the side are all programmable. So if you play Helldivers 2 you can move the stratagems to those buttons!
Vincent Provenzano –
3.0 out of 5 starsI picked up this mouse because I was looking for a mouse with a ton of buttons but without the uncomfortable index finger rest. For me, I float my hand above the mouse. only holding it between my thumb and index finger with my pinkie acting as a stabilizer of sorts. Weird I know, but that’s how I do things and mice like the Razer Naga cause me a lot of hand pain when using the mouse for long periods of time. The comfort on this mouse is great. It’s light, and easy to hold the way I find comfortable. The buttons are stiff, almost too stiff at times, but overall easy to press with a bit of added force. Not quite as quick to operate in something like an FPS game, but they are very deliberate which was good to prevent accidental presses. From a physical standpoint, this mouse is perfect. But these mice are only as good as their software, and it’s sad to say, SteelSeries’ GG software leaves a lot to be desired. From research the mouse only has a single stripped down on board profile that it saves to. So some things won’t work without the software installed on the computer. The basics are there. Rebinding of keys to any most any key is there. Adjustable lighting for your devices. It can be finicky to setup on a per game basic. But it does work. If you don’t need anything complex, then it should fit your needs. The biggest failing of the mouse and software is macros.A mouse with this many button is practically screaming to use macros. The problem is you can only record macros, and the only editing you can do is in the timing of the key presses that the software detects. While this is first and foremost a gaming mouse. That many buttons can simplify a lot of things or make actions like entering repeated text easier. The big ones for me are area screen shots (win+shift+s) and text entering for boiler plate work. For Screenshots the software would record the first two inputs, but only the ‘s’ upstroke. But instead of allowing me to insert a keystroke, I can only record it again. There is no way to enter text. Technically I could create a long macro of the text. But I wouldn’t be saving any time with that. And if I create a typo, I have to start over again from the beginning. Those two issues were the deal breakers for me.TL;DR: Amazingly comfortable mouse with plenty of buttons to play with. But the software supporting that is lacking in many important ways that competitors beat it by. If the software improves, I’ll definitely pick this back up. But for now, I’m returning the mouse because it makes it hard to use in the way I want.

2.0 out of 5 starsI used a Redragon M901 for 4 years. I got it for $30 I never had any issues with the mouse. I only got a new mouse because the leftr click gave out after years of heavy use. It was unavailable to get again on Amazon, so I got this mouse instead with my buddy who recommends great products to me all the time.Within 3 weeks we both regret buying this mouse. Not only does the scroll wheel suck, sometimes scrolling up when you want it to scroll down, but the mouse constantly has connection issues, where every button but the 12 side buttons lose functionality including the ability to move the mouse. The Ergonomics are great and so is the battery life, but I don’t care about that stuff when the mouse can barely function properly in either wired or wireless mode with all the drivers up to date. For the price of this mouse, I could’ve gotten 4 Redragon mice, which lasted me 4 years.I was so upset and disappointed with this product, it has turned me off of any future Steel Series products, which I have used for a while and slowly watch quality go down.

3.0 out of 5 starsI ended up getting refunded for this because of the scroll wheel breaking within less than a month of use. I had to unbind the scroll wheel for every game I played because it would bug at random moments and just zoom me all the way in or zoom in and out erratically. The wheel stopped working completely shortly after that started happening where if you scrolled down it would glitch and send you back and forth or scroll up instead, scrolling up just never worked. Apparently this is a known issue in this model, everything online says to open the mouse up from the bottom and play around to fix it but that voids any warranties you might have on it so I opted to refund it and got a Corsair Scimitar in it’s place which has been great so far.

3.0 out of 5 starsThis review was written by my wife, because it’s her mouse:I have the hands of a twelve-year-old child. This mouse is quite large, but that’s a common problem for me. I can’t go back to having a non-MMO mouse, but the twelve buttons on the side take a lot of maneuvering to get to all of them and so are less than ideal. It is like a jungle gym for my thumb. I find myself adjusting my grip often, which is annoying. Somehow I managed to change the mouse sensitivity three times by accident yesterday. This mouse looks really cool, and will probably be great in the summer especially. I experience *frequent* disconnection issues. My headphones (Razer) and keyboard (Corsair) are also wireless, but I don’t have problems with them. The mouse disconnects when my computer goes to sleep, when I plug it in, when I unplug it, when it has low power, when it wants to. I don’t like this mouse. I wanted to, but I don’t. It’s a pain in the butt.Would not recommend.

1.0 out of 5 starsI love the weight and buttons but this mouse disconnects alot during gaming sessions. Imo this should be the number 1 thing that shouldnt happen. Not recommended.
Patrick Graebe –
3.0 out of 5 starsThe mouse works fine but the it feels like it was designed by somebody with a really long thumb. When my hand is resting comfortably on the mouse its hard to reach the 1, 2, and 3 buttons on the side. In game it becomes very hard to press those buttons while also using the mouse normally. Im really disappointed because it seems like there are no other lightweight mice with side buttons.
Dallas –
4.0 out of 5 starsI like how lightweight and comfortable it is in my hand. Colors are really nice and the app to change the colors is easy to use. My only issue is the connectivity. It always takes forever to connect, and sometimes I need to plug it in to get it to connect.
Yeehawdoggie –
2.0 out of 5 starsThe side of the mouse lack any grip so picking it up to move around is difficult. Like others have noted, the first three buttons are too far forward. They should have made them smaller.

1.0 out of 5 starsI am a causal gamer and about a month of purchasing this mouse, the scroll wheel stopped working. I had to go thru hell and high water to get a replacement. Now after a few months, the scroll wheel has gone out AGAIN on the NEW mouse! DO NOT BUY THIS MOUSE! CHEAPLY MADE!

2.0 out of 5 starsWhat is it about MMO Mice, I have 2 Corsair Scimitars and the scroll wheel messes up.I bought this one to replace my old Scimatar, and within 3 months of my purchase of this mouse, the scroll wheel messed up.For context, as you scroll down, it will jump up on pages randomly and frequently. I made sure I had the most current Firmware and updates for the mouse and computer. The mouse is a little long and can make it hard the reach the further-up buttons compared to the other MMO Mice I have used.

5.0 out of 5 starsThis mouse has been sent by the heaven for the sole purpose of me having a good k/d in call of duty the power it holds is great but anyways you wont wast your money if you buy this product ive had the used version for about 7 months now and haven’t had an issue yet

3.0 out of 5 starsIt disconnects frequently even with the dongle literally inches away from it. I had it disconnect when pulling a boss on World of Warcraft and I wasn’t able to plug it in fast enough so I wiped the raid and they all left. A “gaming” mouse as expensive as this one shouldn’t disconnect often as it’s impossible to play at a high level with that issue.

1.0 out of 5 starsThis thing sucks; it’s made out of cheap, brittle plastic, which the right clicker broke. Never repurchase this brand.
Techdeathlistener –
3.0 out of 5 starsThe pros are:* Light* Plenty of buttons )* Comfortable (opinionated)The Cons are:* Too expensive for quality received ( Lasted me about 1.5 years before the sensor died, I’ve had a 35 dollar mmo mouse that has been through the ringer survive over 2.5 years, The price is not justified.)* atrocious software (sometimes I feel like the steelseries gg software is a straight up virus, It crashes my games and sometimes freezes my computer, ive had to reinstall this software several times because it would get softlocked on the loading screen and then crash, Taskkill wouldn’t work either.)* Low life expectancy (only lasted 1 year and 7 months with normal use)* Shell (This shell design with the holes has got to be one of the worst I’ve ever used, It gets so dirty with no way to clean it unless you tear away the feet which will leave behind residue and will need replacements, id rather have a solid shell in exchange for a few extra grams of weight)*wireless dongle (lasted under a year before dying, I had to get a replacement that was way too overpriced, 5 dollars then 18 dollars for shipping that still took about a week to get delivered)
Flip –
2.0 out of 5 starsThe scroll wheel became glitchy in about 3 weeks. Battery life isn’t 180 hours. I barely got a day or two worth before needing to charge. The thumb buttons are too far forward, would be good if your thumb was as long as your index finger.
Jacob –
2.0 out of 5 starsThis mouse comfort is amazing and weight is good but the worst part and it is the reason y I no longer use the mouse is its connectivity and battery life this mouse will never even get close to 180 hour battery life as it says in description in 2.4 mode with rgb on under constant or some use brightness at 100% or 1% it didn’t matter I was averaging about 13 hours before the mouse went dead and would be slightly better in bluetooth mode with rgb averging between 15 hours to 20 hours but then u go ok sure it be alot better in high efficiency mode nope average about the same hours as rgb bluetooth mode but then in high efficiency mode it will cause the mouse to disconnect 30 to 50 times and reconnect and even while in constant use if u can still find one diffently do not spend the 130 to 150 on the wireless one try to find the wired one
Billzilla –
1.0 out of 5 starsAfter about 10 months of use, this mouse has a scroll wheel that goes ‘both’ directions rather than one much of the time – and it cuts out every time the system reboots. The 2.4G dongle connection is terrible. After trying Logitech, Red Dragon, Razer and Corsair MMO mice I’m beginning to think there is no actually reliable mouse product out there with MMO buttons that isn’t either discontinued or has some prohibitive feature issue (like the horrendous scroll wheel click/silent setting on Logitechs).
Donovan –
3.0 out of 5 starsI love everything about this mouse except the battery life. I think they focused too much on making it ultra light, and the battery life suffers from it. If they made the battery 2x bigger this would be the perfect gaming mouse.
Jonathan Iannone –
5.0 out of 5 starsEvery since the Rival series was discontinued, I’ve struggled to find a mouse I enjoy. This one, hits every mark. Colors and tones are fully customizable. Numerous buttons to utilize for MMO/moba/fps. It is by far the lightest mouse I ever used, and it’s extremely responsive for being wireless. I have had no interruptions or miss-clicks. And it charges super fast – which you can do WHILE you use it (huge perk).

Amazon Customer –

2.0 out of 5 starsThe scroll wheel became glitchy in about 3 weeks. Battery life isn’t 180 hours. I barely got a day or two worth before needing to charge. The thumb buttons are too far forward, would be good if your thumb was as long as your index finger.
