5.0 out of 5 starsMy 8 year old son had an absolute blast showing us all the tricks. It’s a great set to use as a family

5.0 out of 5 starsMy six and eight year old granddaughters had no problem learning how to do these magic tricks. The instructions are color illustrated and were very easy for me to follow. I read the instructions out loud step by step. The girls understood the idea of the magic trick and then practiced them. I think the magic wand turning into flowers was their favorite. They actually own cloaks and put on a magic show for me when they were done practicing a few tricks. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon. This set comes with a lot of tricks making it a good value for the money.

5.0 out of 5 starsAs someone who dabbled in “street magic” performances for tourists in my home town (a city with a major tourist draw) and who also did little magic shows for free at parties since junior high school, a kit like this was basically where it all started. During the 80’s, you could find a virtually identical set of gimmicks and tricks at any Toys R Us or Kay Bee Toys stores. Same applied for the sets that came with an instruction book written by a “known” magician at the time (Blackstone) from Waldenbooks, B. Dalton, or Borders.Interestingly enough, the magic sets haven’t really changed much (if at all) in the last 40 years. Still the same basic gimmicks/tricks. And I’d almost swear that the designs and plastic build of them is virtually the same as what you’d find in the 80’s versions. As if some factory just never stopped churning out some of the the exact same gimmicks they were making decades ago. I suppose if it worked then, it works now, no need to really re-invent the wheel. We picked this out for our Daughter to use. She’s at the age where I can teach her sleight of hand, though she won’t really be able to master it for years to come. And I can’t count on her to be able to perform too many complex tricks. But she can certainly put on little shows using the simple, practically fool-proof gimmicks that I used to use when I was in grade school. So for me, there’s something sort of familiar and nostalgic about this particular set.Yes, it’s sort of cheap. It’s very basic, cheap plastic components to a lot of the stuff. But then, it always was. Only one or two magic sets sold as a kit for kids really stood out, or was made high-quality. The reason being, those sets would easily go for $40 to $50 or more (and that was in the 80s). So most people just got the little cheapo but effective box sets, similar to this one. Because if you wanted a fancy gimmick that was all the rage back then (like “scotch and soda” or specially engineered coins), they would only be sold separately in magic shops. Never part of a set. It was one gimmick, one trick, usually with one popular magician’s name attached to it.So long story short, if you know in advance that you’re only paying about twenty bucks, then keep your expectations realistic. It’s going to be a very basic, very plastic, very simple and borderline dollar-store type set of tricks and gimmicks. And that’s OKAY. All that matters is that your kid enjoy learning the secrets, and thinking that they’re fooling you and anyone else that watches them perform the illusions. Your kid isn’t going to care if some part isn’t made of high-impact plastic and stainless steel, or it doesn’t look as cool as what David Blaine does on TV. It’s just a starting point. Our Daughter has enjoyed using this set so far. And it’s a nice blast from the past being able to go through the tricks, myself. Maybe there are better sets out there. But they’ll most likely cost two or three times as much. So there’s no harm in ordering this one.

5.0 out of 5 starsThis was a fun set for the 6 and 7 year old cub scouts that had to earn a badge about magic and illusions. The pieces were easy to handle and even some of the kids were able to successfully execute some of the tricks. There were several different tricks that kids can learn. The colors are fun and bright and perfect for all ages. The instructions are easy to read and follow and provide clear images to support the written explanation.

4.0 out of 5 starsMy kids had a blast with this magic set. The pieces were not all perfect, but better than expected. Issues:-Somehow the red/blue ball trick had the tab break out almost instantly. I will try to glue to back in.-I also think the red wand is not sized for a USA coin, we couldn’t get it to stick.-The faux thumb looked surprisingly realistic on me when combined with a thumb ring (see picture). However, it is too big for my kids to use.-The back of the trick pen pops off and sticks to the magnet. Another spot that had to be fixed with glue. The rest of the tricks worked as-intended and there are a ton of tricks. It was hours of fun for us. It is such a good value, I bought a second set.

5.0 out of 5 starsSilly rabbit……Tricks are for Kids!(OK, enough of the breakfast cereal commercials.)This is a cool collection of classic table-magic effects, and a book of tricks as well.I would say this is more for 8 to 12 years olds, in that kids any younger may have a bit of difficulty with the manual dexterity, and some concepts involved.I was a “boy magician” growing up, and even performed at a few kid’s BD parties. This set was a gift for my nephew, so far, he is having a lot of fun.

5.0 out of 5 starsFun ways to learn magic tricks. Perfect gift for the little ones. They enjoyed trying to master these tricks. Come with everything needed. Instructions weren’t too hard to follow.

3.0 out of 5 starsThis has a ton of little tricks, some of them are pretty good. But, they are all packed into a box that barely fits, and once you unpack a few its going to be hard to put them back in. Would have been nice to use larger packaging. Also harder to gift because the packaging makes it feel cheaper.

5.0 out of 5 starsPerfect for beginners of all ages! This set is detailed with clear instructions, and includes even some cool magic tricks that I’ve never seen before. Highly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 starsMy 6-year-old has had a blast with this set, wanting to perform the tricks again and again. The instruction booklet is also easy to follow, with concise instructions and plenty of pictures. My one gripe is that the build quality of the set is very cheap. The red ball for the double ball trick broke into three pieces when it fell on the floor, leaving a very distraught young magician. The “tree” that spawns from the magic wand has also started falling apart. It’s definitely a fun little set. Just be prepared that it may not stand the test of time.

4.0 out of 5 starsFor the aspiring magician of the family, this set provides all of the basic tricks of the trade. The quality of all of the items are quite low, to match the price of this product. However, it shouldn’t be an issue and should last through the magician phase or at least long enough to determine if further investment in the hobby is necessary.

4.0 out of 5 starsThe Skirfy Magic Kit for Kids is a decent magic starter set that will likely appeal to younger magic enthusiasts. The kit includes 21 tricks, not 70 as stated in the description, and all the tricks are decently made. The tricks included are:1. The Cups and Balls – The balls seemingly move from cup to cup2. Tube and Dice – A mind-reading effect where you can determine what side of the dice the spectator picks.3. Magic Worms – A fuzzy fake worm that looks alive when you’re handling it.4. Wand to Flower – Make a feather flower appear from a wand.5. Magic Cross – A puzzle to separate two colored plastic pieces.6 Magic Arrow – A trick where the spectator always has the arrows pointing in different directions while the magician always has the arrows pointing in the same direction.7. Exploding Dice – One large dice explodes into 8 tiny dice within a small bottle.8. Magic Knot – A Magician makes a steel ring magically knotted to a necklace.9. Ball and Vase – Makes two balls appear from a single vase.10. Impregnable Magic Barrier – A small ball is released from a seemingly completely sealed clear box.11. Freedom Traffic – A paddle trick where the magician controls what “light” is lit on the paddle.12. Magic Wand – A magic wand that mysteriously rises in the magician’s hands.13. Long/Short Cat – 3 curled cards that are the same shape, but one looks shorter and the other longer when placed next to each other.14. Telepathic Card – A mind-reading effect where the magician accurately guesses which fruit the spectator chooses from a small stack of cards.15. Acacia Rabbit – A sponge ball effect where the magician makes two sponge rabbits out of one.16. Magic Coin – The magician makes a coin magically appear on a small paddle.17. Flatten the Dice – A hard dice magically gets flattened with a single hand pat.18. Finger Scarf – Make a scarf appear and disappear in your hands.19. Color Changing Scarf – Make a red scarf turn into a green scarf in your hands.20. Cut and Restore Trick – Make a rope cut into three pieces and restore it into one using a small box.21. Color Changing Clown – Make a black and white clown picture turn into a colored one.The tricks are about as good as the ones you can find in most magic shops and I liked the variety included in the pack. This is one of the few magic kits that include more difficult tricks such as the color-changing scarf, magic worm, and flatten the dice. Most of the tricks are self-working, but cannot be handed out for spectators to examine. The tricks are good for most young magicians, but there are a few that may be too cheesy for older magicians and too difficult for younger magicians. Regardless, most kids will enjoy the effects. While the tricks are well-made, the instructions were lacking on some of the effects. Some of the effects really could use video instructions because of the difficulty of the effect, while others are self-working enough that they don’t. As for the box everything comes in, it looks like a saltine box. This is not a bad thing per se since it doesn’t waste packaging like other sets, but it’s definitely not as impressive looking. Overall, at the less than ~$20 price point, this is actually a decent set to consider. There are a good number of effects to perform and some you likely will not see in other magic kits.

5.0 out of 5 starsKids love magic tricks, and here are several taught to a young magician. The tricks are easy to learn, and encourage kids to practice to be able to perform them convincingly. Most of the tricks are ones I am familiar with, but there are some I have never seen, so once my little magician learns them, I will be impressed by his magical skill.

5.0 out of 5 starsI bought this on a whim for my daughter. She enjoys watching magic shows and I was hoping that this might help her gain confidence in herself and her public speaking skills. The instructions were very clear and easy for follow. It does require some adult assistance for the intended age range. She was not able to do these on her own, but with guidance she quickly mastered some of the tricks. The kit itself isn’t the most impressive quality, but it gets the job done and is great for a beginner. I loved spending time with my daughter and watching her succeed with these tricks.

5.0 out of 5 starsThis kit came with great illusions and good graphic instructions. My son loved it. He was quick to learn tricks and was performing for the family in no time. The tricks are of descent quality and durable. It is fun to see him perform and get excited to creat cool illusions. Is great kit for the price. Hours of fun.
