Nate’s Reviews – The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly –
So I have been wanting a 3D printer forever and finally got one. I am still figuring out all the in-and-outs (I think I need to put something on the print bed before printing, else it sticks to it), but I am looking forward to exploring more with this machine. First print I did on it was super easy and quick (literally just a file on the included SD card), so like 3 minutes from unbox to go-time. Seriously, it was unbox, remove shipping protection foam, plug in, insert SD, select file, and go. It printed a cute little bunny in a bit over an hour. I am figuring out what slicer (?) to use with it (the recommended one had bad reviews, so looking for something different). I am not well-versed in 3D printing yet, but I know there is a massive library of free files out there one can download to print just about anything. I wish I’d had this 2 years ago when my kids were younger, as we spent ~$60 on multiple kid-proof door locks/guards (which they kept breaking), which at the time I’d found a free 3D print file for, but couldn’t do anything with it. Now, making replacement pieces for broken toys is something I have to learn, but I know is possible. I am sure over time I will grow into a larger machine than this, but if you can get this on a good sale (the list price is too expensive, but a sale can be good), it is a simple way to dip your toe into the water, and learn how much time and money you want to sink into this hobby/potential side stream. Anyway, happy printing, and enjoy! 👍

I always wanted a 3d printer, specifically to make dollhouse furniture and I have had a blast with this Asani printer. The drawback to most people is the size of the build plate, but for someone like myself it is perfect. I was up and running this printer within 20 minutes (mostly because I was downloading the Poloprint app and reading that).I have had pretty good results overall, only a few failed prints and those were my fault (still learning Cura!). I love the automatic bed leveling feature, magnetic flexible steel build plate, the cooling fan with the silicone cover, the size is great. Accessing the menu is easy, easy to read, has great features like being able to pause the print, resume print with power loss (make sure it’s enabled) and the option to turn the LED light on/off. Sound is fairly quiet. My only complaints would be finding extra magnetic build plates in this size, having a dust cover when not in use and needing to purchase spool holders for larger spools, but those are not that serious of issue. Overall I would highly recommend. I find 3d printing to be fun and I would definitely recommend for anyone at any age.

So far so good! It has been pretty fast, and the prints are looking good! There was a couple of times it started to warp away from the base. But I think that was just a Settings issue, once I raised the bed It seemed to work fine!

I own two Elegoo Neptune Pro printers and am reasonably experienced with the 3D printing process and what to expect from a printer as far as usability, reliability and quality. The Tina2s does not exhibit any of the three qualities. Once you venture beyond using the smartphone app to download premade models from the Poloprint cloud you’ll be in the deep end of the pool. I spent the better part of a week trying to get the little printer to do anything useful. Right off the bat don’t use the roll of white filament that comes with it. Whatever you print will stick to the build plate so solidly that it will be almost impossible to remove without damaging the surface. I used it with the Poloprint android app and the included Cura slicer and Wiibuilder slicers and found that if I worked at it I could print a usable model less than half the time. The amount of ‘stringing’ left on the objects is copious to say the least. The Tina2 and Tina2s user groups are full of posts looking for help at overcoming numerous types of print failures and getting little in the way of solutions. The adhesion on the included build plate is poor and not even close to the what you’d expect from any other pei coated print bed. It’s necessary to clean the plate every time and use the included glue stick on the area where the model is going to print and even then the adhesion is uneven and parts of the first layer will often peel off. The biggest issue with anything you print will be the stringing – spider web filaments running all across parts of the model. I found that there is no combination of retraction settings in the slicers that will make any difference on the amount of stringing and this is backed up by many Tina2 group posts. I believe this is because of a major design flaw with the way the filament extruder is constructed. There is a tube running from the extruder unit over the top of the printer and down into nozzle which makes it very difficult for the filament to be retracted quickly enough to keep the hot filament from continuing to be pushed out between nozzle moves. This leaves trails of fine pieces of filament string everywhere. These things are just the tip of the iceberg. I would have given the Tina2s a zero out of five if I could’ve.

I have never used a 3D printer before, but this made it very easy to get started and print a fun model toy on my very first try!The app tutorials glitched on me several times, but the written manual was clear and easy to follow. I haven’t yet tried any custom designs, just options from their pre-loaded library, but that was super easy and worked very well.

Very impressed with this little printer. It was easy to set up (thankfully for me). My 12-year-old daughter has been using it non-stop. We bought various color filament to change things up. Still need to connect it to wi-if for more printing options but even without either-if you can print a variety of things (see picture).

We bought this for my son’s 11th birthday. We absolutely love it. It’s so easy and does quality printing.

Simple to set up. Comes with a sample filament roll to test out. Has an auto level feature which is surprisingly accurate. It prints good quality pieces for a compact size. The app compatibility is awesome. It has a huge library of stls to choose from. Already made a few things using this. Can’t wait to make more things!

This is a great little 3d printer and is really meant for beginners. The print area is 10 cm x 10 cm or approximately 8 inches x 8 inches. I have used to to print out dozens of different things and it hasn’t failed a single item (unless it was my error by not having supports) when it came to printing. The software that it comes with is easy to use and I have found that the wireless printing is one of the easiest options since there is no need to remove the memory card to transfer files over and put it back into the printer. The only complaint and it is a minor one is that this device is designed to handle .5kg spools and nothing larger with the hanging clip on the side. This isn’t a huge deal since I ended up buying a special tray to hold the larger spools (1kg currently being used) and it works without an issue.I highly recommend this printer for anybody just starting out with 3d printing and wanting to learn or for young kids to use. The price is great and the print quality is also great too.

I’ve always been wondering how it felt to be able to own my own 3d printer. To be able to design and print, not only figurines and other designs, but to be able to generate small itty bitty parts that can be used in other projects (ex. small latch, stopper, a gear wheel, etc). Every time something tiny breaks, I’d always wish I can just print it out rather than go through the hassle of looking that part up and contacting the manufacturer, blah blah. That’s what got me into getting this unit. This printer is remarkably easy to use. Setup is fairly simple; biggest hurdle was to install and design the blueprints. I did printing via wifi since I hated fumbling with memory cards. After some trial and error, my prints started looking better. And beautifully did it work too! The feeling with being able to create something out of a strand of raw plastic is really something. I’m quite surprised at how easy it was, especially for a beginner like me.Of course what you can print with it is limited to probably about fist sized figures. But that is more than good enough for my current needs. Maybe someday when I get a better hang with designing, I may print out a bike wheel or something similar sized with a bigger unit. Or maybe just a mini diorama of anime characters. That would be awesome.

I was surprised at how compact this is, and yet it’s easy and quick to set up and use. The starter microSD card comes with a few prints preloaded, and operating via the dial on the printer is straightforward. The print quality is great and durable. Definitely consider this if you’re looking to get into 3D printing at home, or if you know someone who is.

My Son in Law set it up then gave a tutorial to his son and off to the races! He loves it! But, parents need to be aware of what their children are printing out at all times.

This is my first 3D printer and it’s pretty impressive! Works exactly as advertised. Easy setup, easy to understand, and essentially plug-and-play. Great entry into the world of 3D printing. Would recommend for anyone looking to have some fun.

I bought this for my son over a week ago, and he can’t seem to stop using it; he’s practically printing 24/7! The setup of the 3D printer is straightforward. My wife and I expected a smaller 3D printer since it’s meant for kids, but the size of the printing area is quite decent and allows for printing reasonably sized models. It came with a microSD card, which is quite convenient for handling model files, and it includes several files. Additionally, it’s quite simple to download free 3D models from some websites. My son has already mastered how to obtain them and make changes to them as well.Highly recommended! My son loves it!!

I wanted to get my kids into 3D printing as a new hobby. We were looking for an easy to use printer with the same functionality as more expensive versions. This Asani printer fit the bill and functionality for us. The printer is easy to set up with it being fully assembled out of the box. It’s small enough to not take up too much room for where we have it. Printing is relatively quiet except for starting up. The best part for us is how easy it is to use. I’m new to 3D printing and using this with the included designs was a piece of cake. It’s a tad harder to add designs from outside the printer but fairly easy if you can follow the instructions. The only con I have is the size of 3D printings you can make. You are handcuffed by the enclosure size which is great for small things but you won’t be printing anything big with this. Overall, this is a great beginner or kid friendly 3D printer.
