5.0 out of 5 starsI will be SO EXCITED if I can grow something similar to the image on the box. It looks like something out of a storybook! But even if I can’t, the whole DIY experience was enjoyable and rewarding. From unboxing and discovering the cute little tools, to planting the seeds, to watering the little babies and checking each day for any sign of growth, this was such a fun project for me and my kids!

3.0 out of 5 starsIt’s a really cute kit and comes with a lot of accessories. I haven’t had any luck keeping a seed growing though.

5.0 out of 5 starsThis would be an amazing gift for a planter lover or a beginner who wants to dabble into plants. This set includes everything someone needs to start planting bonsai plants. The only downside is that it’ll take a few years before you can even get something like the photos. You’re better off gifting a medium sized bonsai for a similar price.

4.0 out of 5 starsIt is nice start up kit for bonsai tree. It is a first trial for me. Some pros and cons are there.Come with multiple seeds . If failed to grow you can repot new seeds. All things you need for basic start up everything is there. But pots are really small in size.It need lot patience to look after them and wait for them to grow.It is definitely a unique and nice idea who are plant lovers or who are experienced for these kind of trees. But it is not for me.

5.0 out of 5 starsWhat a fun and amazing gift this would make! But I am totally keeping mine! I can’t wait until it grows and I can trim and take care of my very own Bonsai! Everything you need is included and the instructions are easy to follow!

4.0 out of 5 starsGood news is that everything is provided in the kit to get started, bad news is that it’ll take a long time to get to a beautiful bonsai as pictured. Great starter kit for those thoughtful and patient folks in your family that would appreciate this art form. Definitely something to grow into and learn.

5.0 out of 5 starsSo, this kit comes all together in a nice box. There are seed packets that are clearly labeled with which kind of bonsai seed is contained within, and there’s even an extra pouch of seeds in case the first batch doesn’t work out.Quantity of seeds is great! My first batch of Jacaranda seeds actually didn’t end up working, but I was able to get a second batch going without even dipping into the extra pouch. I’m still pretty early on, but I’ve included pics of their growth over the last few weeks. The kit comes with the pots, dirt, and tools needed. The only thing I was really left wanting for was smaller pots to start with, or even a few small pots vs two of the size they are. I ended up with 3 sprouts from each plant going and had to rush to my local store to find some small pots to transplant them in so their roots don’t end up tangled. I’ll be doing that shortly.Overall super solid kit and excited to see how my trees end up!

5.0 out of 5 starsThis kit came beautifully packaged and gives you everything you need to start your Bonsai trees. Do keep in mind that the pictures shown are of much older trees. It will likely take you 15+ years to have a tree like the ones pictured. The kit gives a good, basic introduction to Bonsai with all you need to get started. Once you have your tree(s) growing it would be worthwhile to view a few other websites that discuss growing and trimming Bonsai. This is a nicely-thought-out introductory kit for anyone interested in Bonsai. Starting a tree from seed can be very rewarding and can be with you for a lifetime.

4.0 out of 5 starsThe Jacaranda & Locust Bonsai Tree Seed Kit is an exceptional choice for beginners like me. This kit truly encompasses everything needed to kickstart the bonsai cultivation process. It includes two plastic planting pots with drainage holes and saucers, two seed packets, an instruction leaflet accompanied by a convenient QR code for more details, a pouch holding 3 gardening tools and tweezers, along with two plant markers and two soil disks. The thoughtful inclusion of extra seeds with a sticker playfully stating “Extra seeds for a rainy day!” was nice. The instructions are easy to follow, making the entire process feel approachable. I was pleasantly surprised when most of the seeds sprouted successfully. Notably, the Locust tree displayed quicker growth compared to the Jacaranda. I think this kit doubles as a fantastic gift option due to its beginner-friendly nature and educational value. Witnessing the growth process firsthand is definitely enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 starsThis arrived sealed in its own tamper evident box. Inside 2 main packs of seeds (lots to try over if you need to), germination pots, then seedling pots, growing medium, little tools, an instruction sheet.I might suggest using a covered germination tray to keep moisture & heat in, then transfer out when an inch or higher.I think consulting a reference to get more info about light needs could help with being successful, but these take time to grow in any case. You can research long term needs while these get their starts.Impressive kit with most everything to get up & started, and having it all together makes it worth getting this kit.

3.0 out of 5 starsOut of all the seeds, one sprouted out of both packs. The set is adorable and fitting for any type of plant lover. But the seeds aren’t guaranteed to sprout. I tried giving it time.before a review, but I feel it’s a lost cause with them and threw them out way after their germination periods.Very nice for beginners, and children as well who crave a green thumb. It’s educational in a way, but patience is key. We do love our little sprout, and intend on babying it for it’s first year.I do want to give this a good grade, but due to only one seed, out of both kinds of bonsai’s packs, it a solid B grade in my book.

3.0 out of 5 starsStarted 7/19, seedling pic 8/9This little bonsai kit is cute and good for beginners, even if the Jacaranda’s refusal to live is a bit disheartening, especially when I have (literal) hundreds of thriving plant babies with varying degrees of overall difficulty. While the instructions were clear and easy to follow, I would much prefer a paper set. The website the QR code directs you to can be annoying to navigate, especially when trying to get to one particular part for clarification.Anyway, this set came with everything you need to start, even coming with a spare packet of each set of seeds! The cups are cute, seem to have adequate drainage, and the little saucer fits well under the planter. The cute little tools are a nice touch. The clippers are sharp and strong, and quickly found a new home in my purse for emergency plant acquisition 😉 The coco coir soil is great for freshly sprouted babies and seed starting, but will not be good for these plants long term. I do plan to repot into my preferred bonsai/cactus mix when the survivor is a little more sturdy.I scratched up each set of seeds and soaked them overnight, for around 18 hours total on 7/18, and planted according to directions 7/19, and moved them to the prized real estate on my front porch. Within a week, I had locust sprouts! The jacaranda showed up a day or two later, but quickly decided it didn’t want to live in this world. I used the rest of the first packet of seeds and got one more sprout out of it, this time leaving it inside, in a window with bright, indirect light, where I have quite a few thriving plant babies. Again, I got a sprout, but it quickly shriveled up and died. The locust is doing well with no intervention, and is enjoying weekly deep waterings when the soil is roughly 80% dry. I’ll begin shaping when it gets a little hardier, so for now it just gets to enjoy living its little baby-plant life. I’ll probably try the spare jacaranda seeds next spring and see if any of those ones have a will to live 🙂

5.0 out of 5 starsI’ve always wanted to have a bonzai tree and decided to indulge and grow one from the seed up. This kit comes with everything I needed to get started. It comes with two packages of seeds, a growing medium, and two sets of plastic pots. They even include extra seeds and a set of mini-garden tools. At my age I may not see this come to be a tree but I am looking forward to going through the process and for the cost of this kit I may have to get a few for my grandkids!

5.0 out of 5 starsThis came with 2 varieties of bonsai seeds to grow and an extra packet of seeds for good measure. Included was a puck that you moisten to fluff out as soil, includes (2) pots and saucers. I soaked the seeds for 24 hours as instructed and then planted per instructions. These are the planted seeds after just 10 days. You will see the Locust seeds sprouted right up approx. 1 inch and the Jacaranda seeds sprouts have just emerged. I’m excited to see how well they continue to grow.

5.0 out of 5 starsI actually got a similar kit from this brand for my daughter, and she loved it. It kept/still keeps her busy nurturing the tiny but rapidly growing seedlings. Due to this, we thought it would be great to get another kit to gift to her friend. These kits are great because they have basically everything you need. The best part is that they give you a lot of extra seeds to make attempts with. Just be aware that obviously it will take many years to fully see this become a true full bonsai, but the immediate steps are entertaining. Recommended as a good intro activity for your kid or as a gift to someone interested in starting a bonsai from scratch.

5.0 out of 5 starsI’ve been gardening for pleasure for more than 30 years. I usually grow just cactus and succulents because they’re very low maintenance and if I forget about them for a few weeks, they won’t up and die on me. It’ll be a different story with this bonsai kit. It’s a nice growing kit with everything – except long term patience – you need right in the box. It’s got two packages of seeds, growing medium, and two sets of plastic pots – a small one for germination and a larger one for a semi-permanent home. They even include a packet of extra seeds, just in case, and a set of cute mini-garden tools that may or may not be helpful. The only thing they don’t include are any long term care instructions. You’ll be better off buying a book on growing bonsai anyway. You’ll have plenty of time.If you think you have an easy task ahead, please know that the pictures on the product box are of plants that are 10-15 years old or older. I’m up for the challenge. How about you? Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 starsYou get a lot here for the money. Everything you need is in this box. I soaked 5 of each seed on 7/19. Planted on 7/20 and 2 of the Locust seeds sprouted. This is my 1st time trying to grow Bonsai Trees & Avergo has made it extremely easy. These are growing beautifully. Only 1 locust seed did not sprout.
