These pots do one thing really well: they grow fungus. I ended up buying plastic pots to move items I planted (begonias and gladiolus) in these. Over the time the paper pots were in use, thick coats of fungus covered the outsides of the pots, with fungus creeping around the insides of the pots. I don’t know for sure if the plants would have been infected or not, but opted not to wait and see.I do not want to lose plant materials that are not cheap. Wouldn’t touch these again with a barge pole.

As others said, they molded, no drainage holes. I had to toss mine. But I could see how, if they hadn’t molded, they were rigid enough to start the plant, but pliable enough to plant in the ground. They seemed like they would be just right. I may poke some holes in one and try again. I had them in a planter saucer elevated on ridges with ventilation underneath to prevent any mold. Guess it didn’t work.

I should have done more research about biodegradable planters. Most of the seeds I planted died or the bottom molded out. All my gardening groups said plastic was better because of these reasons but I wanted to be eco friendly. Ended up tossing all of them and buying plastic anyway.

I get that they are supposed to be biodegradable, but they aren’t much use if they don’t last long enough to plant something and then move it to the garden a few weeks later. The first batch I bought got buggy – probably had eggs already in it. This year, I added something to the soil to keep bugs out but the pots began to mold after about eight days.

All of the containers molded. It was awful. They stunk and I had to repot everything.

These are great for veggie garden starters. Just get the seed in and once the seedling is ready for outdoor just pop it in your container of soil or right into the ground. Great for flowers, veggies. Would buy again

Love this product, it works great for transplanting seedlings!!!
Cres –
substantial to add soil and seeds, they hold their shape until I am ready to plant the seedlings.
Krystal –
These are exactly what you’d expect. They are a decent size and I like that they come with little label tags. You get a lot of them in the package and they are sturdy.

Actually using product for planting seeds! Works perfectly! Thanks 😊

Works as intended.

i did not like the product at all it did not absorb water like most pots do do not plan on buying again

In my classroom, the students planted seeds in the pots. They have been durable and easy to handle.

These pots are perfectly sized, my seedlings can stay in these for a few weeks and then out they go into the garden beds. The material is not too thick so the plant roots can grow through when transplanted. Fantastic value!

Pots absorb water poorly and have no drain hole in the bottom to release excess water.

Jump starting indoors since we still might get snow through May. Includes some labels. I used sharpie markers for writing. Clean the labels with rubbing alcohol and paper towels to reuse later.
