5.0 out of 5 starsI ordered 2 so my girls could play at the same time. They both LOVED this item and it works so well. Super easy to operate and the finished product was rewarding! Even I loved the process!!

4.0 out of 5 starsThis was a fun project for my 7-year-old. It was tricky for my 5-year-old. Definitely better for older kids.

5.0 out of 5 starsThe set up was fairly easy! It is fun. My 7 year old had a harder time than my 12 year old. Put they enjoyed making some items. It takes some time to learn.

5.0 out of 5 starsMy 11 year old enjoys this, she learned to use it all on her own. It actually spins well, and comes with tools and plenty of clay to start with.

5.0 out of 5 starsThis is a cute little kit, perfect for kids who are interested in making things. Easy to use and not too messy.

4.0 out of 5 starsThis seems like a good idea for kids with sensory issues who wouldn’t be caught dead touching anything of the likes of wet clay. They can still play but not have to touch the clay while shaping their creation. It is a toy so it is not really a powerful wheel or anything, so the adult will have to help, but it is a step in the right direction

4.0 out of 5 starsThis is a really cool product that comes with everything that you need to make mini pottery. It is really fun and easy to use, really anyone can do it. You can make a lot of different things with it would recommend!

4.0 out of 5 starsthis is actually a fun little set. my daughters really like the miniature pottery wheel thing. this comes with enough clay to do 10 mini projects. i wish it was capable of making slightly larger stuff as it would be perfect. this does make cute little pencil holder things. the set has all the tools needed to make the creations shown as well as paint for them. you can make more by buying additional clay which adds to the usefulness and value. the base of the wheel machine also serves as a storage for the tools which i like as it cuts down on lost parts.overall i think this is a great choice for anyone looking for a fun craft for kids.

5.0 out of 5 starsThis is an adorable little set designed for making mini pottery pieces. The clay is air-dry and there is enough in the kit for a fair amount of (tiny) projects. It is just a tiny wheel, so don’t plan on making anything big. Also, it needs to be used with the cover on it or it will make a mess. Good luck and have fun!

5.0 out of 5 starsNot gonna lie, I got this Make It Real: Mini Pottery Studio kit for myself, a fully grown adult! I saw a miniature pottery turning wheel ages ago and was fascinated by the idea (but not the price tag) . Then I happened to stumble across this kit that is a fraction of the price of a proper mini turning wheel, of course I have to get it! Let’s face it, I only need to play with it a few times to satisfy my creative curiosity and I am done so this affordable mini kit is just the dream for me. I only just started, by making really basic vases, but I plan to get creative with it! My pet lizard is going to get a selection of artistic bowls 🙂 The only thing I don’t bother in this kit is the very crappy paint brush and paint pots. I will us my own instead.Bottomline, great quality kit. It’s fun, it has everything you need to make some mini pottery. I would recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 starsLoved using this with my child. It was a bit tricky to get everything inside the storage area when we were done, but with a bit of tetris-level adjustments, we got it. The clay seems fine, the wheel itself is great. The guides help a ton with ease of use for little hands. Extremely giftable!

5.0 out of 5 starsLots of components to put together and definitely need to understand how it works before getting started. It took us sometime to figure it out. It is definitely a fun toy to have and to watch the action. It is our first time making these mini pottery. Great activity to train patience. We just got through 1 project and looking to finish the rest.

5.0 out of 5 starsMy small daughter has been obsessed with this for the last couple days. It’s a good approach to introducing someone to pottery-making, because:1) It has a splash guard, so you won’t make a huge mess.2) It uses air dry clay, so no worrying about how to access a kiln or even an oven.3) It has three tool guides for making three shapes of vase (one of which looks like a Mario pipe)! This is the best feature of all, in my opinion. It allows complete amateurs to produce pretty decent pottery shapes on their first tries.4) It’s small, and pretty affordable (which it achieves by relying on you having an existing USB power supply, using a reusable tool/paintbrush shaft, and only including 3 paint colors. Though those are of course enough to make some nice designs such as what’s on the box).5) The pots you make are small enough to not take up a ton of space, unlike the strange cow stomach shaped abomination my wife produced back in grade school that haunted her parents house for decades.6) There’s enough clay to make ten or so tiny pieces of crockery (around 1 of each of the designs they suggest)7) There are nice instructions and instructional videos. On the negative side:1) it uses air dry clay, so you’re running against a little bit of a timer. You can’t indefinitely keep retrying with the same clay — it eventually starts to harden and doesn’t work as well for shaping. You generally do have plenty of time to finish each piece though, as long as you don’t keep screwing it up too badly. Also, you do need to make sure and seal the remaining clay up good in an airtight container so it doesn’t harden on you prematurely.2) The USB-powered motor isn’t particularly high powered. That said, it’s been potent enough to easily do the job, you just can’t jam your tool in deep with impunity. You have to kind of shave away at it, as the instructional videos show.3) There’s only one little tool shaft (small paintbrush-sized), that you have to swap out the tiny plastic tool heads on, as well as the paintbrush head they provide. This seems a little bit absurdly cheap of them when they could have achieved the same thing with two two-ended tools and a paintbrush. I wouldn’t be as bothered by this if I hadn’t snapped in half one of the heads that got stuck in there, when trying to get it out (though I should have used pliers instead of trying to pull it off by hand, once it was clear it was stuck). That said, they’re nice tool heads and they do their job well.4) Only three colors of paints is maybe a little miserly, though they’re well-chosen, rich colors (one being a nice gold), that result in nice-looking crockery.5) More tool-guides for other shapes would have been cool, though it’s certainly reasonably that you eventually have to start going freeform to be able to make the more advanced constructs. It may sound like there are a lot of negative points, but I wouldn’t consider any of these deal breakers — they’re just things to be aware of, and par for the course for an affordable toy introductory kit like this. The main sensation that continued to hit me was delight at how my tiny child was able to fully experience the magic of working with a potter’s wheel, in this tiny and manageable form. For anyone willing to work with their kid a bit, who’s kid might be interested (or they themselves might be), I can pretty wholeheartedly recommend this as a fascinating and delightful way to pass a few hours.
