4.0 out of 5 starsThis was super fun for a group project. I bought extra soap to use with what was included (due to so many doing this with me). The oils to add the scents were hard to shake out of the bottle and were barely detectable but in the end we were happy with that versus creating soaps that were too strong.

5.0 out of 5 starsAlmost a very complete kit with better-than-usual instructions. It turned out to be very easy to do. Having not made soap before, I also consulted a book of beginning craft projects. The instructions paralleled nicely except this kit did not say to spray the silicone molds with cooking spray, which I did, and it called for using an alcohol spray to reduce bubbling. But there is no alcohol spray in the kit, nor any indication what sort of alcohol should be used (guessing it isn’t malt whiskey). Because my instruction book talked about limiting the stirring to reduce bubbles, I did that, with reasonable results. The first three bars I made do not have enough fragrance (there is no indication in the kit how much fragrance oil to use) but look attractive enough. The molds are quite pretty though perhaps more intricate in design than the glycerin can reasonably reflect. The instructions also did not say how much color to use.The kit also includes packaging for gifting your bars of soap.I was pleased at the completeness of the kit (other than the alcohol spray), the ease of use, and in general the results. I wish EDSRDRUS had included a website for additional information and tips for neophytes like me.

5.0 out of 5 starsI am a pretty crafty person but I have never tried making soap. Even when this set arrived, I was a little intimidated. I finally got brave and opened the box. I was pleasantly surprised with this kit. Everything that I needed was included in the box so off I went on my first soap making adventure. I’m glad I started small with my first attempt as there was a small learning curve but i did improve with my second and third attempts. I feel as though I was able to make a pretty quality product with this kit. I think it would be a great rainy afternoon project with the kids. I would highly recommend this kit to buy now and keep on hand for a surprise craft day, you and your kids, will not regret it!!

4.0 out of 5 starsI actually make cold process soap from scratch and had never tried the more simple melt-and-pour method before, so I figured this would be a fun way to give it a shot. The molds are nice, as are the pigments, scents, flower petals/herbs, and other included accessories… although there was not anything included that was suitable to melt the soap base in, so I’d recommend buying a microwave-safe glass bowl or a dedicated stovetop pot for actually melting everything in, which is something I luckily already had available.Really the only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars, is the soap base itself, which seemed to be rather weak and difficult to lather. Maybe that’s normal for glycerin soap, I don’t know as I’ve never worked with pure glycerin soap bases before this, but I personally much prefer soaps that are easy to achieve a nice, rich lather with. Maybe that’s just my bias from having more in-depth experience with hand making soap though, and otherwise the finished soaps work well, look nice, and have a good smell. They did all have a few small bubble holes in the finished product, but those could probably have been avoided if I’d had a bit more patience and had tapped the molds more before the soap hardened, to make them rise to the surface where they could be eliminated with a spritz of isopropyl alcohol.

5.0 out of 5 starsThese make unbelievably cute coasters! I used these for a few different kinds of projects and have had great success getting bright, clear, casts from these molds.

5.0 out of 5 starsThis is a basic set, but with a surprising extent of options. It not only comes with 2 blocks of melt-and-pour soap, a couple colours, and a mould, but also with 4 essential oil scents, a melt/pour pitcher, spatula, dried petals, and two packaging-for-gifting options. The instructions for using the soaps are on the packaging of the soap blocks.I decided to test this set out with one row (4 cubes) from both the white and clear soaps. I did the clear first, using rose scent and a few drops of red colour. You definitely want to have all the add-ins ready before melting the soap, because it starts cooling and solidifying pretty fast. I didn’t expect the four cubes to fill the mould very much, and was surprised to find that it filled it most the way.I did the white base next, with lavender oil and mixed a purple with the blue/red colour drops. This one went more smoothly (pun not intended), since I’d prepped beforehand. I didn’t have any rubbing alcohol to spray on the backs, as the instructions suggested, so it definitely had some bubbles. I didn’t think to tap the moulds for air bubbles (not suggested on the instructions), so there were some bubble indents in the mould design side of the soap as well. The soaps cooled within about an hour to where they could be de-moulded, and came out without any problems. The soaps are rather sticky feeling, which I found unpleasant, but may improve upon further drying.I also tried out the two packaging options that came with the set. The first are mesh drawstring bags, and while they were much thicker and yet somehow more floppy than I expected them to be, they fit the bar well. The box was much nicer looking, but barely fit the bar I put in it, with the bar straining the side that the open edges joined. The oval shaped bar may fit better, but the rectangle didn’t quite fit.Overall, I would definitely recommend this kit for people wanting to have fun with their kids making the soaps, or for someone wanting to fiddle around with soap-designing without a big startup requirement. It provided a lot more than I had expected, had clear and easily followable instructions, and turned out a pretty decent product.

5.0 out of 5 starsIncluded in this kit is everything you would need to start a soap making journey! At first I didn’t see instructions for soap making included, but soon realized they are printed on the back of the soap base packages.Every, single item included is well chosen, and the dried flowers, boxes, bags and scents are beautiful additions for a more complete and successful experience.I felt the items included were of good quality, from the soap molds and other tools to the soap making bases. There was nothing in the kit that disappointed me.You get good value for the money because of the number of quality items included. What a lovely set to use or receive. I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 starsWhy didn’t I try this at the start of Corona? Want your kids to wash their hands? Let them design and make their own soaps! It could not be easier. You cut only the amount you want to use for one soap, you microwave it for several seconds before adding ingredients. There’s no worry about it being on food containers like glass, as it’s soap! It washes right off.We have two young kids. I wasn’t sure what the ingredients were in the colorants, so we used our own. Two of the essential oils didn’t smell at all (which was a bit sad) so we used some of our own in addition to the included ones. My essential oils are much stronger than the ones included. At first I didn’t think the molded soaps would fit into the included boxes, but they fit just right. My kids both had the best time. They made them as gifts for classmates. I’m sure we will be doing a ton more of this activity on future play dates. I recommend trying this. For $20 with coupon it’s fantastic.

4.0 out of 5 starsThis soap making kit has everything you need to start making melt and pour soap. You cut the soap base into small pieces, put them in the plastic measuring cup (measurements in metric only), add coloring and scent, pour in to the molds, add flower petals and let cool to set. The very basic instructions are on the back of the soap base packages. Also included are “soap foaming net bags”, and gift boxes. Two things I wish were different are, a glass measuring cup with metric and standard measurements, and more in depth instructions with a trouble shooting section. Glass is more stable than plastic when dealing with hot liquids, and being able to read trouble shooting ideas for issues that might come up would be helpful. The price, I feel, is in line with other, similar kits.

5.0 out of 5 starsI recently ordered the EDSRDRUS DIY Soap Making Kit, and overall, I’m delighted with the experience. The kit provides a comprehensive set of materials, including 2lbs of Melt and Pour Soap Base, beautiful flowers, molds, essential oils, pigments, and even 10 gift boxes and bags – a fantastic value for beginners like me.The instructions were clear, making the soap-making process enjoyable and stress-free. The variety of molds allowed for creative expression, and the inclusion of essential oils and 4 primary colored pigments added a personal touch to each soap creation. However, my only minor disappointment was that the fragrance of the essential oils wasn’t as strong as I had hoped for. While the scents were pleasant, I would have preferred a more robust aroma. Nevertheless, this doesn’t diminish the overall quality of the kit, and I’m excited to experiment with different fragrance options in the future. All in all, the EDSRDRUS DIY Soap Making Kit is a fantastic choice for beginners, offering a well-rounded selection of materials for a fun and creative soap-making experience.
